Song Nine (九下り目 Kokono Kudari-me) is one of the Twelve Songs of the Mikagura-uta. It is said to have been composed by Oyasama in 1867. There was a time when it was referred as "Chapter Nine" in English.

First, | Clapping around throughout the wide world, | hitotsu | hiroi sekai o uchi mawari | 一ツ | ひろいせかいをうちまわり |
And cleansing human hearts once and twice, | issen nisen de tasuke yuku | 一せん二せんでたすけゆく | |||
I will advance the work of salvation. | |||||
Second, | Against any hardship I will protect you; | futatsu | fujū naki yo ni shite yarō | 二ツ | ふじゆうなきやうにしてやらう |
So lean closely on the mind of God! | Kami no kokoro ni motare tsuke | かみのこゝろにもたれつけ | |||
Third, | Looking into all minds of the world, | mittsu | mire ba sekai no kokoro niwa | 三ツ | みれバせかいのこゝろにハ |
I find greed intermingled. | yoku ga majirite aru hodo ni | よくがまじりてあるほどに | |||
Fourth, | If you have greed, cast it away! | yottsu | yoku ga aru nara yamete kure | 四ツ | よくがあるならやめてくれ |
Because God cannot accept it. | Kami no uketori deken kara | かみのうけとりでけんから | |||
Fifth, | It is the same with everyone. | itsutsu | izure no kata mo onaji koto | 五ツ | いづれのかたもおなじこと |
Determine your mind and follow Me! | shian sadamete tsuite koi | しあんさだめてついてこい | |||
Sixth, | I never compel you to go forth, | muttsu | muri ni deyō to yūde nai | 六ツ | むりにでやうといふでない |
Until you determine your own minds. | kokoro sadame no tsuku made wa | こゝろさだめのつくまでハ | |||
Seventh, | Indeed, this time all of you equally | nanatsu | nakanaka kono tabi ichiretsu ni | 七ツ | なか/\このたびいちれつに |
Must ponder over it deeply. | shikkari shian o senya naran | しつかりしあんをせにやならん | |||
Eighth, | Even in the mountains, here and there, | yattsu | yama no naka demo achi kochi to | 八ツ | やまのなかでもあちこちと |
The Service of Tenri-O is performed. | Tenri-Ō no Tsutome suru | てんりわうのつとめする | |||

No one understands My heart. | mune no wakarita mono wa nai | むねのわかりたものハない | |||
Now that | you are calling the name of God, | tōdo | Kami-na o yobi daseba | 十ド | とてもかみなをよびだせば |
Come forth quickly to the original home! | hayaku komoto e tazune deyo | はやくこもとへたづねでよ |
