Content

Walk over where you have swept, sōji shita tokoro o aruki tachi tomari そふぢした ところをあるき たちとまり
and you will come to a standstill. There, the Kanrodai sono tokoro yori Kanrodai o そのところより かんろふだいを

8:83 If you sweep the dust of the mind and clean the Residence in this way, walk the Residence premises that has been cleaned. Build the Kanrodai at the place where your feet stop.

*Note: Oyasama first walked the Residence premises Herself and marked a particular spot. She instructed Kokan along with two or three devoted followers to walk the Residence premises with their eyes blindfolded. When they did so, their feet were drawn to the same spot and were not able to move. The location to put the Kanrodai, the place of the Jiba of Origin was identified in this way on 5/26/1875 (lunar calendar date).

八三、このように心のほこりをはらい、屋敷の掃除をしたならば、その清らかになった屋敷内を歩いて足を止まった所にかんろだいを建設せよ。

 おやさまが、先に自ら屋敷内をお歩きになって、記しをつけさせになり、その後でこかん様を始め、二三の信仰熱心な人々に目をおおうて屋敷内を歩かせられた。すると、同じ地点まで行くと、皆、足が地面に吸い着くようになって動かなくなった。こうして、かんろだいのすえられる可き一、即ち元なるぢばの地点は、明治八年陰暦五月二十六日を以て定められたのである。
