Commentary

Commentary by Yoshitaro Ueda (2008)

From Michi no Dai: Foundation of the Path 33:57

This verse obviously does not mean that God has not taught anything since the beginning of the world. Indeed, God says elsewhere that nine-tenths of the complete teachings have already been given. God has already provided humans with training and instruction in wisdom and letters as well as with other forms of care and guidance. Yet this is not to say that everything has already been taught. God has not revealed the fundamental teaching about the Parent of Origin or about the Joyous Life, the goal of human existence.
