Ofudesaki chushaku

3:1 At this time, remove the building from within the Residence that is obstructing the growth of the path.

*Note: Oyagami hastened the construction of a building for Oyasama to live in. Thus in this year (1874), construction began on a gate with an adjacent living space and a storehouse. God hastened the cleaning of the Residence grounds and the removal a building that was obstructing the planned layout of the Residence.

『おふでさき註釈』、p. 30 一、この度は屋敷の内から、道の発展上邪魔になる建物を取り払うて了え。

Commentary by Yoshitaro Ueda (2008)

From Michi no Dai: Foundation of the Path 33:28

Part III begins by telling us about sweeping. The phrase “from within the gate” means “from the Residence premises,” and “the structure” refers to a small hovel-like building that stood at the Residence at the time. It has been said that this building was not in accord with Oyasama’s intention. The first verse says that it should be quickly removed. Given the phrase “set about quickly,” Oyasama is urging that it be cleared away quickly, or even immediately.
