From Michi no dai: Foundation of the Path 35:59

Verse 66 says that if we “truly” or genuinely make a full inquiry into the origin–i.e., if we seek and gain a deep understanding of this foundation–”this path will become truly promising,” which is to say, the path will have a truly promising future. These references to digging up the “root” are part of the lead-up to the main body of the Story of Creation, which is presented in Part VI.
