5:18 Do not think that this path is the same as other teachings that you have encountered. It is the beginning of the path of single-hearted salvation that will be transmitted in this world forevermore.
Commentary by Yoshitaro Ueda (2009)
From Michi no dai: Foundation of the Path 35:49
This broad path is far from worldly common. It will lead to “the Divine Record for eternity.” The term “Divine Record” refers to the instructions–or writings recording them–that are to be handed down through endless generations as the foundation of single-hearted salvation. Thus, the meaning of the verse is that this broad path is the beginning of the instructions that are to serve as the foundation of single-hearted salvation and to be handed down through endless generations.
