Commentary

Commentary by Yoshitaro Ueda (2009)

From Michi no dai: Foundation of the Path 35:49

Although the context here is about serious illness, this verse, which emphasizes the importance of quickly understanding this teaching, indicates that the principle that has been explained applies to everything rather that be limited to serious illness. The accumulation of the dust of the mind may manifest itself in the form of not only health disorders but also other problems. The verse is saying that God will certainly save anyone from not only any health disorder but also any other problem including a disaster–however problematic it may be–if the person fully awakens to God’s intention embodied therein and responds with a sincerity that is worthy of being accepted by God.
