Third Edition

Until now the people of the region where My teachings spread early have been following after and have been under the control of the region where My teachings shall spread later. This is the reason of the regret of God.

Hitherto, the initiated obeyed and were controlled by the uninitiated. This is the cause of God’s disappointment.

4:128 Until now, My Teaching has been at the mercy of the human thinking from those who did not know My true intention. This was something I truly have been frustrated about. *Refer to note for 3:86

Commentary

Commentary by Yoshitaro Ueda (2009)

From Michi no dai: Foundation of the Path 34:67

“Until now,” says the verse, those who do not understand God’s teachings or are not in accord with God’s intention have dominated those of Nihon, who have been obeying Kara. This is regrettable.
