Third Edition

If only this is clearly distinguished, the regret of God will entirely disappear.

When the regret of the true God becomes cleared away, the minds of the world will become cheered up.

Inoue/Eynon

Only when you promptly understand this distinction, will God's disappointment vanish completely.

When the disappointment of the true and real God has vanished, all the hearts of the world will become inspired.

Ofudesaki chushaku

4:34, 35 If people would only fully gain insight into this sequence, the source of My regret will be removed, My mind will become cheered, and the minds of the people of the world will naturally become spirited as well.

『おふでさき註釈』、p. 58

三四、三五、この順序さえ人々によく悟りがついたならば、親神の遺憾としていた処も除かれ、心もはればれするから、世界の人々の心も自然と勇み出て来るようになる。

From Michi no dai: Foundation of the Path 34:45–6

IV:34

“If only this distinction is made quickly”–or once this distinction between “Kara and Nihon” is made–God’s regret, i.e., God’s feeling of impatience, will be cleared away.

IV:35

Once the regret of “God in Truth,” i.e., God the Parent, is cleared away, the minds of all people throughout the world will become high-spirited. A while ago, we looked at a verse that said that when the minds of all people in the world become spirited God’s mind will also become spirited. The verse we are considering now says that, when God’s regret is cleared away, the minds of all humans will become spirited. This verse is another example of how God and humankind have a relationship of mutual response. If we cause regret to God, our minds will inevitably become depressed.
