Commentary

Commentary by Yoshitaro Ueda (2008)

From Michi no Dai: Foundation of the Path 33:34

The term “interest” presumably refers to a token of gratitude. When we borrow something from someone, we express our gratitude to that person. The verse says to “return it quickly” as well as to express our thanks.
