Ofudesaki chushaku

2:28 Since you have been exerted your minds and dedicated yourselves daily for the sake of the path, there is only but little left to endure. Come follow Me through any and every situation without becoming dispirited and a promising path will surely come to be seen in the future.

『おふでさき註釈』、p. 24

二八、日々に道のため心を尽くして運んできた上からは、もう一寸の辛抱であるから、どのような中も精神をたおさぬようにしてついて来い。末は必ず頼もしい道が見えるであろう。

From Michi no dai: Foundation of the Path 32:52

The verse encourages those of us who have devoted ourselves to the path day after day to settle our heart. The verb “settle” means to restore something to the way it should be. When the mind is agitated or disturbed, it is not as it ought to be. This verse says that, no matter what situation we find ourselves in, we should try to settle the mind by using the teachings as our dependable guide and continue following the path. This, according to the verse, will ensure a promising future.
