Commentary

Commentary by Yoshitaro Ueda (2008)

From Michi no dai: Foundation of the Path 34:48

Verse 43 says that we should respond to what has happened to our bodies–namely, the bodily disorders–by pondering, making a firm resolve, and relying completely on God.

Thus, when we experience a bodily disorder, we ought to use it as a pointer to help us ponder deeply. Besides pondering, we should resolve. We should also be sure to rely on God.
