Joyous Service

Joyous Service is a gloss of the Scriptural term Yoki Zutome よふきづとめ and is one of several terms used to describe the Service. The Ofudedsaki chushaku says "It is also called the Joyous Service because it represents the truth of God and humankind becoming spirited" (Note for Ofudesaki 1:10). In other words, it describes the ideal state of mind in which the Service is to be performed.
