67. Poor Fellow Tsurumatsu Nukuto was frail from childhood. In 1879, when he was sixteen years old, his chronic stomach ailment grew worse and soon reached the critical stage. His doctor gave him up as hopeless. At this time, the fragrance of the teachings was spread to Tsurumatsu by Kiichi Asano through Higashio, a distant relative. At the recommendation of Kiichi, Tsurumatsu firmly resolved to follow the path. So, accompanied by his parents, he returned to Jiba for the first time, carried on a stretcher, over forty-eight kilometers of mountainous road. He rested overnight and the next morning, through the arrangements made by Jukichi Nakayama, Tsurumatsu was received in audience by Oyasama with special permission to remain on the stretcher. Thereupon, Oyasama said:
She took off the red kimono-undergarment She was wearing and put it on Tsurumatsu, slipping it over his head. At that moment Tsurumatsu felt the warmth of the red kimono-undergarment and at the same time he felt as if dawn had come. Though his illness had been critical, from that moment he began to recover. He stayed one week; he received marvelous salvation and was soon cured completely. It is said that all through his life Tsurumatsu recalled that moment and said, "Even now I cannot forget that warmth." |
六七 かわいそうに 抽冬鶴松は、幼少から身体が弱く、持病の胃病が昂じて、明治十二年、十六才の時に、危篤状態となり、医者も匙を投げてしまった。 この時、遠縁にあたる東尾の伝手で、浅野喜市が、にをいをかけてくれた。そのすすめで、入信を決意した鶴松は、両親に付き添われ、戸板に乗せてもらって、十二里の山坂を越えて、初めておぢば帰りをさせて頂き、一泊の上、中山重吉の取次ぎで、特に戸板のお許しを頂いて、翌朝、教祖にお目通りさせて頂いた。すると、教祖は、
と、仰せになって、御自身召しておられた赤の肌襦袢を脱いで、鶴松の頭からお着せ下された。 この時、教祖の御肌着の温みを身に感じると同時に、鶴松は夜の明けたような心地がして、さしもの難病も、それ以来薄紙をはぐように快方に向かい、一週間の滞在で、ふしぎなたすけを頂き、やがて全快させて頂いた。 鶴松は、その時のことを思い出しては、「今も尚、その温みが忘れられない。」 と一生口癖のように言っていた、という。 |
